Medical Sciences I

The first year of the pre-clinical curriculum introduces students to the organs and systems of the body along with common medical conditions, diseases, and illnesses (symptoms, causes, and clinical treatments). In addition, a clinical skills course runs each term throughout the entire year.

MEDICAL SCHOOL READINESS CURRICULUM

Medical Sciences II

The second year of the pre-clinical curriculum consists of three blocks — Normal Human Structure and Function; Mind and Brain; and the Molecular Basis of Medicine — and a clinical skills course runs each term throughout the entire year.

Normal Human Structure and Function

It is organized into modules on Basic Biological Principles, Cardiovascular, Blood, Gastrointestinal, Endocrine, Reproductive and Urogenital Systems, Pulmonary, Renal, Acid-Base, and Special Senses.

Mind and Brain

Molecular Basis of Medicine

THIRD-YEAR

MEDICAL SCHOOL READINESS CURRICULUM

Medical Sciences III

The third year of the pre-clinical curriculum consists of three blocks — Infection and Host Response, Blood and Inflammation, and Disease & Therapeutics — and Clinical Skills courses that run concurrently with the curriculum.

Students also receive dedicated time to prepare for the Comprehensive Basic Science Exam – a practice test to support our MPP students’ readiness to pass Step 1 of the USMLE Licensing Examination.
