We are now accepting applications for the next cohort of students at the MPP Academy! There is no cost to apply. We use a rolling admissions process which means that our office of admissions team will evaluate applications as they are received versus waiting to evaluate all applications after a hard deadline. Therefore, we will accept applications until we have filled all seats for the incoming cohort.
We have put together a flow chart which we hope will help you understand the MPP Academy’s admissions process.
We are accepting applications for admission from high achieving U.S. and international students currently enrolled as a 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade student. U.S. citizenship is not required, but an excellent command of the English language, both written and oral, is necessary.
International Students English Language Test: Evidence of English Language Proficiency
All applicants from countries in which the official language is not English are required to submit official evidence of English language proficiency by taking a standardized test called the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). TOEFL is administered by the Educational Testing Service. You can obtain detailed information from the TOEFL website, or contact TOEFL Services, Educational Testing Service, P.O. Box 6151, Princeton, NJ 08541-6151, (609) 771-7100.
This requirement applies to applicants from Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Latin America, the Middle East, the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, most European countries, and non-English-speaking countries in Africa.
If you have completed at least one year of full-time academic course work with grades of B or better in residence at a recognized U.S. institution, you do not need to take a standardized test. Instead, you must upload an unofficial transcript from the recognized U.S. institution.
The MPP Academy targets students who are serious about their academic preparation for college and/or medical school with at least a 3.00 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) in their academic courses completed within the last 12 months of submitting an online admissions application. High school students who have earned less than a 3.00 GPA may be considered for admission.
Your commitment to academic preparation for college, becoming a competitive applicant for college admission, and taking ownership of your future college and career goals are the most important factors in our process of selecting students for admission.
This is your opportunity to tell us about yourself — your hopes, ambitions, life experiences, inspirations. We encourage you to take your time on this assignment. Be open. Be reflective. Find your individual voice and express it honestly.
As you respond to only one of the essay prompts below, think about the admissions team who will read your statement and what you want them to understand about you. While your personal statement is only one of many factors we consider when making our admission decision, it helps provide context for the rest of your application.
Directions: All applicants must respond to one essay prompt using one the following submission options:
Essay Submission Options
Option 1 (Written Response). Write an essay in no more than 1000 words (single spaced or double spaced, 12pt font) responding to one essay prompt below.
Option 2 (Video Response). Record a video presentation of yourself responding to one essay prompt below.
Please choose one essay prompt out of the three prompts below and respond using one of the essay submission option stated above. Do not respond to more than one essay prompt.
Describe the world you come from — for example, your family, community or school — and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and career aspirations. In addition, please explain why you decided to apply for admission and what you expect to learn and experience from participating in the program.
What is your top choice career interest or career goal? Discuss how your interest in the career developed and describe any experience you have had in the field — such as volunteer work and internships. In addition, please explain why you decided to apply for admission and what you expect to learn and experience from participating in the program.
The life lessons we learn from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to your future success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? Additionally, please explain why you decided to apply for admission and what you expect to learn and experience from participating in the program.
To better understand your academic background, we require one recommendation per student to be completed by an academic teacher. School counselors and administrators can also complete the teacher recommendation form for students.

Ask your School to provide you with a copy of your unofficial school transcript as you will need it to upload to your online admissions application.
Important Note: Interviews will be requested should our admissions team have further questions regarding your application.
During the interview session, we will ask questions about the student’s academic and career goals, why they decided to apply for admission, and their extra-curricular activities. In addition, we will ask parents questions to get a better insight on where their son or daughter is today as it relates to their college and career path. Please be prepared to do most of the talking! Additionally, prospective students along with their parents will have an opportunity to ask specific questions about the MPP Academy.
