What is the cost to attend MPP?

MPP Academy costs what your family can afford. We’ve created a financial aid program to make MPP affordable for every student who gets admitted – regardless of their family’s income. Our goal is to bring the best students to MPP – period.

  • If your family’s income is less than $85,000, you’ll pay nothing toward the cost of tuition.
  • For families who earn between $85,000 and $150,000, the expected contribution is between 1% and 3% percent of your annual household income.
  • Families who earn more than $150,000 are eligible for financial assistance and scholarships.

Important Notes:

  1. All MPP Students will be assessed a student registration/technology fee ($599 per term), which is typically not covered by MPP financial aid and scholarships.
  2. For those families that find the registration/technology fee to be a financial hardship, you may be considered for an Economic Hardship Fee Waiver.

Estimated Parent Contribution Toward MPP Tuition:

Here’s some examples of estimated parent contributions toward MPP tuition when Financial Assistance Applications have been submitted, and scholarships have been awarded (The percentage of need will be based on your family’s income, assets, and overall financial circumstances):

Annual Household Income ExampleParent Pays 1%Parent Pays 2%Parent Pays 3%
$85,000 $850 per year $1,700 per year $2,550 per year
$100,000 $1,000 per year $2,000 per year $3,000 per year
$125,000 $1,250 per year $2,500 per year $3,750 per year
$150,000 $1,500 per year $3,000 per year $4,500 per year

Guiding Principles

  • We meet your demonstrated financial need, based on information that we receive in your Financial Assistance Application from your family each year.
  • All students are eligible for financial aid regardless of nationality or citizenship.

Dedicated to Affordability

We make a promise to every admitted student:

Your family’s financial circumstances will not keep you from attending MPP!

24%

of MPP families pay nothing towards the cost of tuition

55%

receive MPP Scholarship aid

The NAPCA Foundation understands that family circumstances may not enable all qualified students to attend a program without financial assistance. Therefore, through the generosity of donors, financial assistance, to the extent possible, will be made available to assist as many admitted students.

All applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need. The financial assistance committee takes into consideration extenuating circumstances such as recent job loss, illness, and injury. Limited aid is available and an application is not a guarantee of financial assistance. Financial assistance awards are made on a rolling basis and will be distributed until all funds have been exhausted.

Don’t wait until you’re accepted to MPP to apply for financial assistance.

Determining Your Families Financial Need

Our financial aid and scholarships team work closely with you and your family to complete the MPP Financial Assistance Application, which will help determine your demonstrated need and your family’s expected contribution. We determine need based on your family’s income, assets, and overall financial circumstances.

Students who complete the financial aid application will receive their financial aid decisions at the time that admissions decisions are released.

For many MPP families, the expected contribution towards the cost of tuition is between zero and three percent of their annual household income.

Financial Assistance
Application & Requirements

Proof Of Income From Parents/guardians

  • Providing proof of income from both of the student’s parents, including step-parent(s) living in the same household with the student, if applicable, is required unless you have a special circumstance.
  • If your family has a special circumstance that prevents both of the student’s parents from providing proof of income, you will need to describe your special circumstance in the application as it will help our financial assistance committee better understand your situation.

Parents Who Are Not Living In The Same Household

  • Parents who are not living in the same household can submit their proof of income separately.
  • If your family chooses to submit proof of income separately, each parent will need to complete and submit the financial assistance application for his/her child independently.

Proof of Income: All families must submit a copy of their most recent federal income tax return to be considered for financial assistance.

Financial Assistance Application

  • There is no application deadline. Students are encouraged to apply early for priority consideration.
  • Financial assistance awards are made on a rolling basis and will be distributed until all funds have been exhausted.
  • Limited aid is available, and an application is not a guarantee of financial assistance.

What happens next?

  • All of the information you submit in your financial assistance application will help MPP determine the total amount of scholarship funds you may be awarded.
  • You will be notified of your financial assistance award offer in your “Admission Decision Letter” via email.

MPP Scholarships (Merit-based)

Compared with need-based scholarships, merit-based scholarships are not based on your family’s financial status. Merit scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership, service and talent.

MPP Academy has a long tradition of offering scholarships to bridge the gap between the cost of tuition and what families can afford to pay out of pocket.

By the Numbers

$5 Million

awarded in scholarships in 2022-2023 academic year

79%

of the fall 2023 cohort received a MPP Merit Scholarship.

MPP offers several scholarships to help incoming and current students pay the cost of tuition. These funds come from a variety of donors, but unlike loans, they do not have to be repaid.

Below, you will find a table that shows the scholarships available to incoming/newly admitted students and current MPP scholars.

Fundraising

Students and parents have reported that online fundraising was one of the best ways to secure the additional funds needed to cover their cost to attend the MPP Academy. Our students and parents wrote a compelling letter to ask for donations from family and friends. Additionally, parents that maintained a Facebook page, placed the donation letter on their Facebook page to spread the word to family and friends. Many of our students have used gofundme.com or other fundraising platforms to raise funds.

Online fundraising has proven to work for our students and parents. To start raising funds online now, go to: Gofundme.com

It takes about 15 minutes to set up your personal online fundraising website.

If you need help setting up your online fundraising website, our student support team can help you develop your own personal fundraising web page.
